Tracing Spaces

in may 2021 giorgia was selected to undertake a three month research program with the university of the underground. during the program, the cohort conducted an investigation into belief systems and religion. as a part of the practice-based residency, my fellow researchers and I unravelled the relationships between religions and nation-states; beliefs systems and economics; through a series of experiences, and creative interventions involving political theory and practice.

as part of my personal research I focused on how we could re-frame the way in which we perceive abortion and reproductive rights.

for the project I created an online experience [https://abortion-as-a-rite-of-passage.glitch.me/] to describe the way in which an in person support group could validate people’s experiences better.

in october 2021 I ran the support group, tracing spaces, in collaboration with zachi brewster, abortion doula and founder of dopo: https://www.wearedopo.com/home. to promote the group I created more artworks and visuals which you can see in the following pages.
