reflections of– was a series of three in-person workshops exploring what a co-created club night could look like. these sessions were organised and created in collaboration with architect Jamie Hignett. they took place in february 2022 at spanners club (london).

◇ reflections of ritual focused on the experiential, emotional, and sensory aspects of going to a club.
◇ reflections of space investigated the layout and structure of club environments and how these afford particular rituals.
◇ reflections of noise considered the sounds that fill the space and how they move us.

every workshop began with a shared meal, followed by contributions from invited speakers discussing their research and personal experiences. each talk then sparked a forum for conversation, inviting participants to exchange ideas, share memories, and imagine possible club futures.

the project emerged from extensive research on club and rave culture, as well as shared interests in music and spaces that foster collective joy.
